The treatment programme is designed to restore 'balance' to the tone of your muscles and joint position. This will improve the function of your body and return you to good health. This is not just a quick fix, but a long-term solution to your aches and pains.
The adjustments made to your body, will be specific to your particular ailment and needs. A home exercise programme will also help stabilise your condition.
Patients who attend the clinic are often pleasantly surprised that the adjustments are gentle 'low force' corrections, to include:
Activator
Technique:
The Activator technique consists of using a hand held instrument called an Activator, that delivers a
precise controlled impulse force into a misaligned joint and to provide a
stimulus to help restore muscle balance.
Sacro-Occipital Technique:
The SOT technique consists
of lying on specially designed wedge shaped blocks that are placed under your
pelvis and hips, that will reposition your pelvis and sacrum, to its natural position.
Flexion-Distraction Technique:
The Cox technique consists
of a gentle distraction (traction) of the lumbar spine to separate the lumbar
vertebra and allow any bulging/slipped discs to be de-stressed.
Thompson
Technique:
The spine
and pelvic adjustments are assisted by the use of a 'drop table' which
requires less force, and makes the adjustment more comfortable, to align the pelvis, sacrum and lumbar
spine.
Percussion:
An
electrical percussor/massager is used to stimulate the under-active muscles of
the spine, hips or shoulders. This will provided a stimulus to
the muscle spindle receptors, helping flaccid muscles increase their tone.
